Paul Charles Kavulok
(1930-2023)
With grieving hearts, we announce the passing away of our beloved husband, dad and papa Paul on September 24, at the age of 93. Paul leaves for his family a legacy of unconditional love and support, solid work ethics and a witty sense of humor.
Paul is sadly missed by his devoted family; wife and best friend for 70 years ‘Lou’ (Louise); son Artie (Arthur), daughter Paulette, son in-law Richard (Dick); grandsons Alex and Richard Paul (Richie), granddaughter Marie and great-grandson Sidney; sisters-in-law June Gora and Carrie LaPorte, and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Paul was born in Athabasca and was raised on the family farm. There he learned the value of a hard day’s work and discovered his natural love of the land and farming. Paul married Louise Laporte, they happily raised their son and daughter on the farm and Paul actively farmed for 50 years. Paul worked hard, enjoyed life and thought the world of his family.
Paul was predeceased by his parents Sophia and Paul; brother Alex and sisters Amelia, Annie and Mary; nephews Larry McKelvey and John Rypien and other relatives, in-laws and friends.
A funeral, officiated by Father Paulson Kannanaikal CMI, was held at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church in Athabasca, on October 2, 2023, followed by a private Interment at the Athabasca Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations toward the St. Gabriel’s Memorial Fund or the Athabasca Healthcare Center Ladies Auxiliary Association, would be welcomed.
Paul’s memory will be cherished.
