John Bohdan Bilo
On October 23, 2024, John Bilo, of Westlock, Alberta, passed away at the age of 92 years.
John is survived by his son, David, of Westlock and sister, Helen Stojanowski, also of Westlock.
John was predeceased by his wife, Vera; parents, John and Julia, sister, Anne Borhen, and sister, Mary Hoblak.
John was born August 8, 1932, and lived and worked his entire life on a farm west of Westlock near Pembina Heights. He married his wife, Vera Szolucha, on August 25, 1962, and was eventually blessed with a son, David, who was born on Dec. 24, 1971.

Back in the day, John owned and rented a fair bit of land along with his brother-in-law, Cornal Stojanowski. He liked to have all the latest farm equipment and gadgets. He was also an accomplished welder and pretty handy with a hammer and saw.
John was one of the founders and loyal supporters of the St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church near Rossington. John will be remembered as a kind, happy, generous, compassionate, man with an incredible memory, and will be missed deeply.
A private interment service officiated by Father Mark Sych has taken place at the St. Michael Cemetery in Westlock.
