Two to appear in Boyle court for attempted murder

RCMP do not think the incident was a random act

Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement – Two men are facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, after a Sept. 7 shooting at a residence on the Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement, 44 kilometres east of Boyle. 

Boyle RCMP responded to a call that a man had been transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries and were able to locate the residence as “significant damages were apparent,” according to a Sept. 21 media release. 

RCMP obtained a search warrant to enter the residence and seized firearms, ammunition and other forensic evidence inside that led to the Sept. 20 arrests of two 30-year-old men — Guy Edward Delorme from Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement and Brendan Christopher Dion of Edmonton. 

Delorme is charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, disguise with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm and theft of a motor vehicle. 

Dion has been charged with attempted murder, unauthorized possession, disguise with intent and breach of a release order. 

Both men were remanded into custody to await their first appearances via CCTV in Boyle Provincial Court Sept. 22. 

Boyle RCMP are still investigating the incident and do not believe it was random.

Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement, Alta. - On Sept. 7, 2020 Boyle RCMP responded to report of a shooting at a residence on the Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement.

Police were advised en-route that an adult male victim was taken to hospital with a serious life threatening injury. Police were able to locate the residence where the shooting occurred as significant damages were apparent.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence and police seized firearms, ammunition as well as forensic evidence. Two suspects were arrested and charged with multiple offences regarding the shooting.

Guy Edward Delorme (30) of Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement was charged with:

 

·         Attempted murder

·         Assault with a weapon

·         Disguise with intent

·         Unauthorized possession of firearm

·         Theft of motor vehicle

 

Brendan Christopher Dion (30) of Edmonton was charged with:

 

·         Attempted murder

·         Unauthorized possession

·         Disguise with intent

·         Breach of a release order

 

Both the accused were remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and are set to appear in Boyle Provincial Court via CCTV on Sept. 22, 2020.
