WESTLOCK - The Town of Westlock has removed a misspelled sign at the start of the Old Pickardville Road — the corner of 96th Ave and 100th Street (Highway 18) — directing people to the “Westlock Cementery.”
CAO Simone Wiley said they learned about the error this past week and have since removed the sign. A corrected Westlock Cemetery sign is scheduled to be installed this coming week.
“I really don’t know what to say what happened … I have (economic development officer) Vivian (Zittlaw) in my office right now who is our sign person,” said Wiley.
“This went through various people before it got put up. A local business did those signs up for us … and it has been up for over a year, so it’s interesting that nobody noticed until now.
“That’s kind of where we’re at … mistakes happen.”
