That is because on Jan. 3 at 9:57 a.m. Neerlandia's Matthew and Mikaela Hooimeyer welcomed their first child into the world, Vera Grace Hooimeyer (seven pounds, 12 ounces, 19 1/2 inches). The delivery was performed by Dr. Frederik Wepener and the staff at the Barrhead Health Care Centre.
In addition to Vera Grace being the couple’s first child, she is the first grandchild for the parents on both sides of the family.
“We have such a wonderful facility and such great staff here,” said Matthew.Mikaela agreed, adding she couldn’t think of a better doctor than Dr. Wepener to have delivered her baby.
