Innisfail Eagles cancel Saturday home game as extreme cold continues

INNISFAIL – The bitter cold snap has claimed its second sport event cancellation.

The Innisfail Eagles senior AAA men's hockey announced on social media that its scheduled home game against the Stony Plain Eagles at the Innisfail Twin Arena on Saturday, Jan. 13 has been cancelled due to “severe weather conditions.”

The social media post added the game will be rescheduled to another date, which will be announced in the future.

The next Innisfail Eagles game is scheduled for Jan. 20 on the road in Stony Plain.

The next scheduled home game for Innisfail is on Jan. 26 against the Powell River Regals, who are visiting from British Columbia.

Earlier on Friday (Jan. 12), the Cottonwood Kayak Club announced that its annual canoe polo tournament, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Innisfail Aquatic Centre, has been cancelled.
