PILOT MOUND, Man. — Children were taken to hospital following a school bus crash at an intersection near Pilot Mound in southern Manitoba.
RCMP say a pickup truck heading south collided with the rear driver's side of the eastbound bus Wednesday morning, and the bus ended up on its side in a ditch.
Mounties say all 14 children on the bus had been evacuated when officers arrived, and the kids sustained minor injuries.
RCMP say the children, ranging in ages from elementary to high school, were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution and some were taken to Winnipeg for further assessment.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 17-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital.
Police say charges are pending against the truck driver.
