The primary purpose of this position is providing nursing care and delegated health services to home care clients in order to maintain the client in his/her own living environment. Working with in a range of health care providers, Licensed Practical Nurse may be required to perform many different tasks. In collaboration with other health care professionals (such as registered nurses, psychiatric nurses, doctors and physiotherapists) the LPN is required to carry out many nursing duties independently. The work depends on the nature and complexity of the care clients need in order to manage client and family concerns. Having traditional and cultural knowledge and sensitivity to traditional customs and beliefs is essential to community work.
• Diploma - Licensed Practical Nursing Program
• First Aide & CPR
• Advanced Training in Foot Care
• Advanced Training in Orthopedics and Renal Dialysis an asset
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG Certification)
• Criminal Record Check
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• Intervention Record Check
• Reliable Vehicle
• Valid Driver’s License
• Speak and understand the Cree language an asset
