ST. PAUL - St. Paul RCMP have arrested and charged three people following a call to respond to a complaint of a theft in progress at a rural residence in the St. Paul area Sunday at approximately 12 p.m.
RCMP members attended the area and located the suspect vehicle with assistance from the public, according to an RCMP media release. The vehicle fled from police and was tracked to a private residence where the suspects ran inside. With the assistance of Smoky Lake RCMP and St. Paul Police Dog Services, police set up containment on the residence. Two of the suspects eventually exited the residence and were arrested while police obtained authorization to enter the residence to arrest the third. Through investigation it was found that the suspect vehicle had been stolen from Marwayne a day earlier.
The press release notes the original complainant had also been a victim of break and enter at the same property earlier that morning. An investigation into that offence continues to determine if the two incidents were related.
Danny Mcgilvery, 34, of Saddle Lake has been charged with: operation while prohibited, flight from a peace officer, resist/obstruct a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, being unlawfully in a dwelling house, mischief under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Mcgilvery was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody to appear on Jan. 2 in St. Paul Provincial Court.
November Quinney, 22, of Saddle Lake was charged with: flight form a peace officer, resist/obstruct a peace officer and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Quinney was released and is scheduled to appear on Jan. 2 in St. Paul Provincial Court.
Kerri Angus, 34, of Kehewin was charged with: flight form a peace officer, resist/obstruct a peace officer, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was also released and is to appear on Jan. 2 at St. Paul Provincial Court.
