On June 10, Bonnyville RCMP seized a Molotov cocktail, ammunition, drugs, and multiple stolen property items after executing a search warrant in the 4300 block of 48 Ave. in Bonnyville.

An arrest warrant was issued for 42-year-old resident Robert Poole, who was arrested on July 9. He is charged with possession of an explosive, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, and possession of methamphetamine.

Poole was remanded into custody until his first court appearance on July 11, according to an RCMP media release issued by Bonnyville Staff Sgt. Sarah Parke.

RCMP searched Poole’s garage, where the Molotov cocktail was found in plain view, according to the report. Due to the presence of explosives, the RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit was involved and assisted in dismantling the device.

The recovered stolen property is being returned to its owners.
