St. Albert RCMP have arrested a man who they believe asked two 15-year-old girls if they would like to have sex and do drugs, and who then punched the girls' 14-year-old friend in the face.

"On July 4, 2024, a St. Albert resident was arrested and has charges pending in relation to this incident," says an RCMP press release. "St. Albert RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance as public tips were crucial in identifying the suspect in this incident."

The man was a stranger to the two girls, RCMP said. He approached them in the parking lot of the Mission Ridge Shopping Centre to ask if they were interested in having sex and doing drugs.

Scared, the girls found their 14-year-old male friend, who confronted the man. The man then punched the young boy in the face.

An adult attempted to intervene, but the man fled.

Information about the suspect cannot be released until police lay charges.
