An RCMP cruiser is stationed in front of a home as police investigate a shooting on Sheep River Court in Okotoks on May 1.

The bail hearing for the man accused in an Okotoks shooting earlier this year has been delayed.

Kaden Clouston faces charges stemming from a May 1 shooting on Sheep River Court in Okotoks that seriously injured a 53-year-old man.

A bail hearing was set for Aug. 1, but prosecutor James Doran said the accused has requested a new lawyer.

The case has been adjourned until Aug. 9 in Okotoks Court of Justice for the lawyer to review details and a new bail hearing has not been scheduled, Doran said.

Due to renovations at the Okotoks courthouse, the Aug. 9 appearance will take place at the Diamond Valley Court of Justice.

Clouston has been in custody since his arrest at the shooting scene and charges were announced by police on May 3.

Clouston is charged with a variety of offences, including discharging a firearm with intent, aggravated assault, careless use of a firearm and three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
