On July 30, during a special council meeting, Woodlands County Council carried a motion to terminate Gord Frank without cause, providing a severance package.

“I make the motion that council ratify its decision dated July 19 that the appointment and employment of CAO Gordon Frank be terminated without cause effective July 23,” stated Reeve Kusch.

“That he be paid severance in accordance with his Woodlands County employment contract.”

Counsellor Dean said, “I move the council approve all expenses related to the CAO personnel file, including legal costs, shall be funded by the working capital reserve.”

Both motions were carried.

In the May 28 Woodlands County Council meeting two interim chief administrative officers (CAOs) were appointed, Paul Benedetto and Rod Hawkins.

Gordon Frank was reported on leave at that time.

During the August 14 Woodlands County Council meeting the motion to use Human Edge Executive Search to recruit for a new CAO for Woodlands County was carried.

The money to cover the expenses will come out of the working capital reserve.
