BARRHEAD - The Nueme Memorial Open Bonspiel Tournament was held at the Barrhead Curling Club on March 30 and competition was stiff.
“The Nueme Memorial Open Bonspiel was a huge success and so much fun,” said Krista Measures, Barrhead Curling Club manager.
Team Greilach were the winners for the A curling event and presented the trophy by Jaclyn Neuman along with mugs.
Team Wierenga were the B event winners. The C event was won by team S. Phillips, and the D event was won by team Chapotelle.
Sponsors for the event were the Newman Family, Dan Chapotelle Handyman Services LTD., B&B Wilson and Stutchbury Insurance. Friday night snacks were donated by Greilach Lussier LLP. Pembina West Co-op provided hot dogs and condiments that were enjoyed by all the everyone.
Measures thanked all of the businesses and people that donated to the raffle table with great prizes.
The wonderful mugs presented to the A event winners were made by Tays Prints and Designs (Tayler Measures).
The Nueme Memorial Bonspiel was the last curling event of the year at the Barrhead Curling Club.
Measures hopes to see everyone out next year.
