Attention, please … there are just three weeks to go before the draw for the Agrena Society’s 50/50 cash lottery.
That means just three weeks left for you to buy a ticket and a chance of scooping up to $50,000!
And remember – each $20 ticket helps the fund-raising drive for Barrhead’s new aquatic centre.
Tickets can be bought at local retailers, the Town office or from Barrhead and District Agrena Society members. They are also being sold inside the Co-op and IGA.
Last Thursday, Agrena Society president Shannon Carlson said there had been a pick-up in ticket sales since Barrhead Town Council announced the location of the new swimming pool.
The site is at the corner of 49 Street and 58 Avenue, off the highway and near the Shepherd’s Care facility. The council bought a five-acre parcel for $175,000.
“We still have plenty of tickets left,” said Carlson. “But time is running out to buy them.”
The March 1 grand draw takes place during an Ag Society Open House at the Multi-Purpose Room, next to the Agrena.
The event starts at 7 p.m. There will be speeches, and coffee and snacks will be available.
“We will also have conceptual drawings of the new pool,” said Carlson.
Meanwhile, another Ag Society fund-raiser is even closer to being wrapped up.
Those wanting to go to West Edmonton Mall’s Galaxyland on Feb. 16 for just $10 have four days to buy a ticket. Tickets are valid for admission between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Normally it costs $30 to enter the giant indoor amusement park, which is full of exciting rides and play areas for people of all ages. One of the big attractions is a triple loop roller coaster.
