Everyone knows milk is good for your health.
Now there is a potential financial benefit from buying those 4 litre Dairyland jugs at Barrhead Co-op.
You could win $5,000 – and help the Co-op win $5,000 for the Barrhead &District Agrena Society’s efforts to raise funds for a new aquatic centre.
The “Milk Every Moment at Co-op” contest started Sept. 27. Entries should be submitted online by Oct. 29. Visit www.cooppromotions.com for details, including rules, conditions and eligibility.
Five prizes, each consisting of $5,000, are up for grabs, with the winners chosen by a random draw.
The Co-op has begun promoting the contest in its store. Customers are told that every 4L jug of Dairyland white milk purchased – except organic and lactose free – earns them and the store a chance to win $5,000 each.
Barrhead Co-op food division manager Kevin Steeves said the store was delighted to choose the Agrena Society as its favourite charity.
Speaking personally, Steeves said as a Barrhead County resident he was in favour of a pool, although more information about the proposal was needed.
Shannon Carlson, president of the Agrena Society, raised a glass to the Co-op. “We appreciate the fact that the Co-op are always putting their best feet forward when it comes to pool fundraising and so many other good causes in Barrhead,” he said.
Also last week, the Barrhead Co-op presented Carlson with a cheque for nearly $300. The money was raised from the Taste of Barrhead on Saturday, Sept. 28, when the Co-op ran a booth selling French food, including cream-filled croissants and fudge.
