BARRHEAD - Swan Hills RCMP are seeking the public’s help in locating two suspects who broke into the Highway 33 Esso gas station and stole a quantity of cigarettes, scratch tickets and other merchandise.
According to a release, RCMP responded to an alarm at the Swan Hills Esso at approximately 5 a.m. Dec. 12. When police arrived, they discovered the gas station had been broken into.
Surveillance video showed two men pulling up to the station in a white, early-2000 model Dodge Ram pickup truck. After leaving the scene they headed south on Highway 33 towards Barrhead.
Police note that the Canada Post outlet in Swan Hills had been also been broken into that morning and parcels were stolen — they believe the incidents are related.
The first suspect is approximately six-feet tall with a muscular build. He was wearing a black balaclava, a black toque with a red band and yellow, or orange emblem, a black long-sleeve fitted shirt, black pants and blue gloves. He may also have been wearing a chain around his neck.
The second suspect was a larger, heavier-set man. He also wore a black balaclava, along with a grey hooded sweatshirt, black pants and grey/green gloves.
