ATHABASCA – The Town of Athabasca and its councillors are gearing up for a busy council meeting Tuesday night, with multiple delegations and prior agenda items returning for decisions.

Councillors will start their night with two delegations. The first, from a local property owner, contains a request to purchase a lot of town land behind his home for $10,000, and the agenda includes documents showing the town values the lot at $50,000.

Second, Debbie Wood will bring her annual FCSS report to the table where she’ll highlight what the organization as accomplished over the year and where the town’s money is going.

After the delegations, councillors will reassess the two-hour parking signs in the downtown core. Administration is recommending some of the signs be removed due to limitations, while others will remain in place. Check back Wednesday afternoon to see where the parking rules will be relaxed.

For a full agenda, check out Athabasca’s website.

Councillors will end their meeting with a single closed sessions topic, which is covered under Division 2, Section 23, Land.
