A 43-year-old man was killed Sunday evening in a head-on crash along Highway 63 near Grassland.
According to Boyle RCMP Cpl. John Spaans, the deceased was driving a van northbound on Highway 63 in an “erratic and dangerous fashion,” when he struck a tractor-trailer unit parked in a roadside rest area.
The driver of the van, whose name is not being released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer unit was not injured. No charges are being contemplated.
The collision took place around 6:30 Sunday evening, 1 km north of the Atmore junction. Traffic on Highway 63 was not affected by the incident.
