ATHABASCA — Ghosts, goblins, and ghouls who dared venture out to a horrifying house along a dark, lonely gravel road between Boyle and Colinton were treated to yet another year of scares and surprises with the return of Zaft’s House of Horrors Haunted Maze.

2024 marked the fifth year the Zaft family has transformed their farmhouse into a scene straight out of a scary movie. Those up for a fright visited the maze from Oct. 24 to Oct. 27, and over the four nights, more than $3,000 was raised for local causes.

A total of $2,600 was donated to the Colinton Fire Department, from which volunteers help direct traffic and guest safety every year. $564 was rasied for SCARS, and three totes of non-perishable food donations were collected.
