Fort McMurray driver ordered to pay $800 in fines for speeding

A Fort McMurray woman must pay $800 in fines after being clocked going 63km/h over the Hwy 63 speed limit.

BOYLE — A Fort McMurray woman was hit with an $800 fine after being clocked travelling 63 kilometres over the speed limit more than 200 kilometres south of her home.

Hillwei Fayad pleaded guilty to one count of exceeding the maximum speed limit in Boyle Court of Justice Dec. 10 in front of Justice Charles Gardner and Crown prosecutor Taylor Noble.

An officer clocked Fayad travelling at 173 kilometres per hour in a 110km/h zone on Hwy 63 near the hamlet of Wandering River.

Fayad was given until January 31, 2025 to pay the $800 fine.
