BREAKING: RCMP investigating after body found near Boyle

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating a homicide after a body was found near the Village of Boyle Feb. 26.

BOYLE – The Alberta RCMP are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found near the Village of Boyle Feb. 26.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation after an autopsy determined the death had been a homicide, although no cause of death has been released. The victim’s identity is also not being released at this time.

Investigators believe the victim was in Fort McMurray the same day, and are seeking video footage from the Lakewood and Eagle Ridge areas. Anyone with information regarding the incident, or video footage from the hours of 11;30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Feb. 26 can contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4000.
