ATHABASCA —  A man accused of failing to provide a breath sample, fleeing from police, and injuring an officer in the attempt to escape has a new arraignment date in front of the province's superior trial court.

Glen Morin’s matters are next slated to be seen in Court of King's Bench in Edmonton. A representative for Morin’s lawyer, Evan McIntyre, said the accused is not requesting a preliminary inquiry, and has opted to pursue trial by judge alone.

Charges against Morin include one count of aggravated assault of and flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, failing to stop after causing bodily harm, and failure to provide a breath screening.

The charges were laid after a two-day manhunt following the initial Oct. 25 traffic stop that lead to the incident. RCMP allege Morin was the driver of the white Ford F-150 captured by dash cam footage.

Morin is currently out of custody and his matters will be seen in Edmonton’s Court of King's Bench on March 28 at 9:30 a.m.
