Sturgeon Lake - RCMP seize weapons, suspected opioids, arrest three

The Prince Albert RCMP Crime Reduction Team arrested a man and two women and seized a sawed-off shotgun, speargun and suspected opioids after raiding a home on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation Feb. 12.

According to the RCMP, the CRT, along with officers from the Prince Albert RCMP Detachment and Prince Albert Integrated Street Enforcement Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Agency Road. Police seized weapons and suspected hydromorphone.

They arrested Shania Yooya, 24, Brennan Sanderson, 27, and Shannon Sanderson, 29. The three were charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number and possession of a weapon obtained by crime. 

Yooya remains in custody and appears in Prince Albert Provincial Court Feb. 20. Brennan Sanderson and Shannon Sanderson were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Prince Albert provincial court on March 18.
