A pedestrian who was struck by a road grader in Goodfish (Whitefish) Lake First Nation on Monday morning, has died.
St. Paul RCMP say they received a report of a fatal collision around 11 a.m. on Sept. 9 regarding a pedestrian who was struck by the machinery. The incident occurred near the community hall on the main road in Goodfish (Whitefish) Lake First Nation.
Upon arrival, emergency crews identified the pedestrian as a 34-year-old resident of Goodfish Lake. The pedestrian was deceased on scene, according to police.
Early investigation by RCMP indicates that driver impairment has been ruled out as a factor. The investigation remains ongoing.
RCMP expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Goodfish Lake, also known as Whitefish Lake First Nation #128, is located about 70 kilometres northwest of St. Paul.
