**Needs another confident male dog in home

Hi my name is Dixie, I was surrendered to SCARS because my family was unable to care for me. I was extremely underweight when I was surrendered, so for now I'm trying to catch up and fill out all my curves. I have a very sweet and loving personality. I thrive on attention and return it by showering you with kisses. I'm extremely wiggly, but very gentle. I have just started coming out of my shell and love to play with the dogs at my foster home. At the beginning I completely ignored the cats in the house, but now I'm becoming more interested in whether or not they can be playmates too.

I am 6 months old and seem to be past the nippy/bitey stage. My manners are iffy at best so I will need a lot of one-on-one training of the basics. At nighttime I sleep in my crate beside my foster sister's crate, in my foster mom's room. I have stopped barking and whining at night and now look forward to getting my treats when I run into my crate on my own. During the day I'm working on spending more time in my crate alone. I'm eating my meals in my crate and playing with interactive treat toys in my crate to help me understand that time spent on my own can be yummy and fun. I know to sit now if I want a treat. I'm getting used to wearing my new collar, and leash training starts this week.

I don't poop in the house and I'm working on letting my family know when I have to pee outside. I do use pee pads mostly, so at least cleanup is easy. All this in just ONE week! I'm very smart and with love, exercise, and attention I will become my best self and make a wonderful addition to someone's family. Having a confident male dog in the house is a must.
