WESTLOCK – Now more than 72 hours following nomination day, Monday, Sept. 20, the Village of Clyde remains a single candidate short of meeting the minimum requirement to fill all spots on council and will need another extension.
Since Monday the numbers of candidates has steadily increased from one on Monday to four as noon Sept. 22, but has failed to hit the magic number of five. Nominations were open again today, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon, but didn't generate another candidate — so far three women and one man have submitted their paperwork.
As it stands the deadline will be extended to tomorrow, Sept. 24, and run again from 10 a.m. to noon.
